The Recollect Augustinian Youth (RAY) held its “Recollectnic” last June 1-2, 2013. With the theme “Finding the Light through Faith”, this overnight recollection with a picnic was a way for the RAYers to reflect, renew and strengthen one’s commitment to God, to his/her self and to the community. The first part was held at the Sta. Monica Retreat House with Ms. Myrna Baynosa giving the first talk about having commitment to self and to community. She pointed out that knowing one’s self is a very essential way of doing it and prayer is having an intimate relationship with God. The second part was held at Buro-Buro, Monterry Resort at Brgy. Alangilan. There the RAYers, together with Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR, Ms. Luz Cielo Ganza and Ms. Cheressa Sanchez, shared a simple dinner. Then, a mass was followed together with the general absolution. Fr. Louie, in his homily, shared about having commitment with God. He said that it takes an effort in having and maintaining commitment with Him. A taize followed the mass in the supervision of Mr. Isidore Vincent Adolfo, a CMO staff. A trust building was conducted the next day to test the members in their coordination, participation and relationship with each other. It also helped them to handle pressures and opportunities coming in their way. The event was concluded by having an election for the new set of officers for the coming school year.
