UNO-R, as the university is fondly called, stands as the living symbol of quality Catholic Christian education. As a caring community that educates, UNO-R draws inspiration from St. Augustine’s theme, “Caritas et Scientia” in the pursuit of its goals for the students in all levels.

We are an Augustinian Recollect University that educates the mind and heart by providing the climate, the structure, and the means to develop the vocation, knowledge, skills, talents, and attitude of the community as permeated by the Gospel values for the service of humanity, love and praise to the One God.

Caritas Et Scientia

UNO-R is an Augustinian Recollect Center of Learning which makes knowledge (SCIENTIA) a structure of wisdom that leads one to the exercise of love (CARITAS).

The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (UNO-R), Incorporated envisions itself as a globally recognized Augustinian Recollect University committed to inclusive education, through quality instruction, transformative research, and sustainable community development.

The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (UNO-R), Incorporated educates the mind and the heart through globally relevant Catholic education by providing learner-centered instruction, engaging in impactful research, and sustaining community initiative to form competent, socially responsive, and values-driven graduates. 

QUALITY OBJECTIVES

Guided by the vision, mission and commitment to excellence, the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos, Incorporated commits to:

  • INSTRUCTION: Delivering relevant and outcomes-based continuing education, with Religious Education at its core, through periodic curriculum review, improved student performance, quality support services, and responsive academic offerings that address the needs of local and global communities. 
  • RESEARCH & INNOVATION: Enruching academic programs through increased functional, innovative, and ethical research outputs through faculty and student engagement in research presentations, publications, collaborations, and research-based initiatives that contribute to the transformation of individuals, communities, and society. 
  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (EXTENSION): Complementing the academic programs with the implementation of multidisciplinary community extension programs and projects annually that promote holistic development, social responsibility with preferential option for the poor through active stakeholder participation and measurable community impact.
  • PRODUCTION: Promoting intellectual property development, scholarly publications, innovative products and technologies, creative works and cultural contributions, and educational resources through institutional support, capability-building programs, and measurable production outputs. 
  • PLANNING & SUSTAINABILITY: Developing, implementing, and evaluating periodically strategic plans and initiatives that ensure sustainability of the University though effective developmental planning, financial management, operational efficiency, and resource optimization.
