ARCORES Spain visits UNO-R

The University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R) warmly welcomed a delegation from ARCORES España during a courtesy visit on July 27, 2026.

Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, Jr., Director of the Planning and External Affairs Office (PEAO), received the international volunteers with a lecture on the history of Negros and UNO-R.

The group from Spain included Jana Son Martin, Marta Loris Azagra, Candela López Losilla, Luisa Lobo Barba, Alejandro Contreras Ladrón de Guevara, Isabel Contreras Ferres, and Inés Moliner Moreno. They were accompanied by Rev. Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR, President of ARCORES Filipinas Foundation, Inc., and Ms. Roanne Jill Labrador of the Resource Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI).

Following the orientation, the delegates toured the campus to explore key university landmarks, including the Main Lobby, Fray Luis de Leon Library (FLDL), and Fr. Mauricio Ferrero Building, St. Joseph Building, and St. Ezekiel Moreno Building, as well as the auditorium, amphitheater, canteen, and the Earth Chapel.

Mr. Nicko Leonardo, Mr. John Mel Enfectana, Mhika Cenizal, Julianah Cassandra Makilan, and Coleen Espolong guided the group. Throughout the tour, UNO-Rians extended an enthusiastic welcome to the guests. One of the highlights of the visit was a stop at the Hospitality Management laboratory, where the volunteers sampled freshly baked breads and local delicacies prepared by UNO-Rian students. They also visited the world-renowned Earth Chapel designed by Fray Jaazeal Jakosalem, OAR.
