This is a great day of jubilation for the members of the Order for this is the day in 1588 that the Augustinian Recollection was born during the Provincial Chapter of Toledo, Spain. The Chapter ordered dedication of 6 monasteries (3 for men and 3 for women) for those who want to embrace a more austere system of life. In 1602, Rome made the 5 convents into a Recollect province dedicated to St. Augustine.
