PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE GOALS

The University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos , Incorporated (UNO-R) recognizes that achieving sustainable development requires strong partnerships among academic institutions, government agencies, industry, civil society, alumni, and local communities. Through collaborative initiatives, the University mobilizes expertise, resources, technology, and stakeholder engagement to advance environmental sustainability, quality education, community development, and institutional resilience.

STRATEGIES

The University strengthens partnerships by:

  • Collaborating with government agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.
  • Partnering with industry leaders to implement clean energy and resource-efficient technologies.
  • Working with local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and community organizations in environmental protection and extension programs.
  • Establishing academic and research collaborations that support sustainable development.
  • Engaging students, faculty, alumni, and external stakeholders in sustainability programs and community service.

KEY PARTNERSHIPS

  • Renewable Energy Partnership
  • UNO-R partnered with ECG CleanPower Systems Inc. in the design, installation, monitoring, and performance evaluation of the University’s rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This collaboration has enabled the University to expand its renewable energy infrastructure to approximately 1.0 MWp of installed capacity, with 801.04 kWp operational during the May 2025–May 2026 reporting period. The partnership contributes directly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting clean energy adoption.
