July 27, 2009 (Bacolod City, Philippines). Five Thousand students, employees and administrators join the ANTI CON-ASS protest against the Arroyo Administration organized by the Diocese of Bacolod.
In solidarity with the call of the Church to oppose the selfish initiatives of the Arroyo administration to push-through of its plans for a Constituent Assembly, the UNO-R contingent of five-thousand strong (students, faculty, employees and administrators) collectively marched together with more than fifty thousand participants to oppose the CON-ASS initiatives.
The march and rally is an act of communal discernment, reflection and vigilance – that the Church, academe and civil society groups are concerned to safeguard the sanctity of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines.
