Grade School Principal, Mrs. Sunya Phi Sumalde and Dr. Carlos Legaspi, Jr. attended the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines Basic Education summit held at the Miriam College in Manila last January 12, 2012. Fr. Gregg Bañaga, CEAP President, welcomed the delegates. The speakers during the summit were: DEPEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro, FSC; Usec Yolanda Quijano; Usec Francis Varela; and Asst. Secretary Tonisto Umali. Bro. Luistro likened the K to 12 program to the Kingdom of God which is here but yet to come. The afternoon session was dominated by presentation of Transition models by Sr. Maria Marissa Viri, RVM; Fr. Ely Fuentes of the Archdiocese of Jaro; Fr. Gerald de Villa, OSB of San Beda College, Alabang; and Dr. Edizon Fermin of Miriam College. Ms. Rhodora Ferrer, Executive Director of CEAP synthesized the K to 12 program as a program for development and not to be opposed. One could download important K to 12 documents from www.ceap.org.ph.
