September 16, 1912 was a very significant day of the Order of Augustinian Recollects. It was this time when the congregation of the Augustinian Recollect was elevated to a Major Religious Order of the Catholic Church by Pope St. Pius X in his Papal Brief, “Religiosas Familias”. Last year, the Order celebrated the centennial of THE Order. Today, September 16, 2013 closes the centennial celebration. A Thanksgiving Mass and renewal of vows of the OAR Priests and nuns were celebrated at the Monastery of St. Ezekiel Moreno at Tangub. Rev. Fr. Constantino Real, OAR was the Main Celebrant while Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral, OAR was homilist. Members of the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity (SARF) led by Bro. Ferdinand “Bong” Concepcion were present.
