A collection of more than hundred miniatures, Christmas houses, trains, Santas, Christmas trees and figurines are on display at the Museo Recoleto de Negros, UNO-R, from December 5 to January 6, 2016. The exhibit was opened Dec. 5 by Fr. Eduardo S. Celiz, Jr., OAR in the presence of the faculty, students, and guests. The Christmas Village is owned by Mrs. Mary Jeannie R. Bayona. Simultaneous with the opening of the Christmas Village was the lighting of the trees at the University Parking areas. The lights were sponsored by the University Administration; UNO-R Faculty and Employees Labor Association; Blue and Gold Alumni Association; UNO-R Alumni Association, Inc.; Faculty Employees Mutual Aid Association, MPC; UNO-R Grade School PTA; Pamilya Rekoleto; Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity (SARF); UNO-R NSTP and College Deans. The University Park was also illumined by the lights and lanterns; Religious Education Department; Senior High School Department; Campus Organizations; College Councils; Supreme Student Government; and the Office of the VP-Student Welfare and DSA. The lighting Ceremony came after a Christmas Cultural Show at the Gymnasium and was attend by the University Community. The theme of the Christmas Celebration at UNO-R is “Paskwa nga Recoletos; Si Kristo para sa mga Kubos”. The coordinator of the Christmas village and the light-a-tree is the Office of the External Affairs.
