The Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School will hold its 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR exhibit and seminar, Oct. 7 – 8, at the President’s Hall of UNO-Recoletos. The event aims to showcase the various activities of several companies and Oceana Gold (Phil), Inc. to join this year as an exhibitor and presenter. Oct. 7 is exhibit day for the participating companies and will serve as venue for industry practitioners and stakeholders to create awareness of the various CSR programs that can be beneficial to both the community and the industry. A seminar entitled “The Power of Corporate Social Responsibility: Managing Emotional Connection and Environmental Intimacy between Community and Industry” was held October 8. Oceana Gold hopes that it will be able to share its best practices in its social investment framework. “We care during the 2-day event.”, OGPI General Manager David Way said, “We have explicitly focused our entire social investment program on one mantra, we care because we do. We care about people, about the community, the people we employ, their families, their future, their children, their health. We do not stop caring. That is how we do business.” The event, on the theme, “Saving Lives, Extending Hands”, is organized by the MBA students of UNO-R under the guidance and direction of Prof. George Zulueta, Dr. Michelle Saplada, and Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR. (Visayan daily Star, October 7)
