Fray Raul Buhay, OAR was born in San Miguel (Surigao del Sur, Philippines) 1962. He made his solemn profession in 1987 and was ordained a priest in 1988. After completing his philosophical and theological training in Marcilla (Spain), he was assigned to Rome to study biblical theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Subsequently, he obtained a Ph.D in Educational Management at the University of San Jose-Recoletos of Cebu. He has been part of the government of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno and has worked in the educational ministry and mission in Sierra Leone, Africa. Fray Raul served as Vice President for Academics of UNO-R and Dean of the Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School in 2006 -2009. It was during the time of Fr. Buhay that the university gained iquame Category A (t) in 2008 and its CHED Autonomous status in 2009. Fr. Buhay is presently a General Councilor of the Order. (data from www.agustinosrecoletos.com)
