The 9th Gowning and Pinning of Medical Technology students was held at University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, July 13, 2016, at 1:30 PM. The event started with a Eucharistic celebration at the Oratory of St. Nicholas de Tolentino with Rev. Fr. Persiuz Joseph M. Decena, OAR, the University Chaplain, as the celebrant. It was followed by the program proper with the usual opening formalities. Dr. Shiela Arnibal, Dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences gave the opening remarks. Ms. Arn Ginette Gutierrez, BS MedTech Batch 2016, delivered an inspirational message. Gowning and Pinning of Fourth Year BS Medical Technology students followed. According to Mrs. Fatima Medel, RMT, Medical Technology Department Head, “the Pinning and Gowning is a symbol of the official start of the internship of the students. “This event manifests the start of the OJT of students for the whole Academic Year” MedTech Batch 2016 of the University turned over the medical laboratory equipment to Batch 2017. Arvin Tan, of this year’s batch, gave the closing remarks. In return, students gave symbols of gratitude to their parents for their support.
