Diocese of Bacolod Vicar General Msgr. Louie Galbines led the thousands of students gathered in the gymnasium in ushering the opening of academic year 2016-2017 during the Mass of the Holy Spirit, June 24, 2016. Msgr. Galbines shared the nominal meaning of Alma mater. “Alma” which means to nourish while “mater” means mother, thus Alma mater means “nourishing mother”. So, the university being our alma is a nurturing mother to us all. It means that it wants us to grow. Our schools nourish everyone that come to them. As a mother, it does not discriminate. Rev. Fr. William Villaflor, OAR; Fr. Edcel Celiz, Jr., OAR; Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR; Fr. Persiuz Decena, OAR; Fr. Ronel Gealon, OAR; Fr. Pedro Escanillas, OAR; Fr. Enrico Silab, OAR and Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR celebrated the Holy Eucharist.
