Proposed several years prior by then NSTP Coordinator, Dr. Carmenda S. Leonoras and her team, the brand-new vehicle’s purchase was approved by Fray Eduardo S. Celiz, OAR, then university president. Due to rising costs, NSTP instructors recommended that an additional school bus would be more feasible as it would lessen transportation costs, effectively funneling more of the NSTP budget to projects instead. Delivered Wednesday, July 10, 2019, the bus is an RK8JSUA Deluxe AC, Grandeza Type – Six-wheeled, fully air-conditioned, has a seating capacity of 50 and has an emission standard of Euro 4. The new bus, alongside UNO-R’s other service vehicles, will be used to take students and staff to community outreach activities which include tree planting and coastal clean-up drives. It can be used by other departments for other official functions when needed. (news by Jiggs Kalalang)
