In a bid to enhance the training of future Catholic educators, the Resource-Handumanan Foundation, Incorporated (RHFI) and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), June 29, 2026, at the President’s Conference Room.
The agreement establishes a formal partnership between RHFI’s St. Ezekiel Academy – Recoletos (SEA-R) and the UNO-R College of Education (COED). Signatories of the pact were Rev. Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR, representing RHFI, and Rev. Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, representing UNO-R. The collaboration focuses on strengthening cooperation in the field of teacher education, primarily by providing meaningful, hands-on experiential learning opportunities for UNO-R’s Bachelor of Elementary Education students.
SEA-R will serve as a venue for field study, classroom observations, demonstration teaching, and internships. Beyond technical training, the alliance aims to promote excellence, professionalism, Christian values, and social responsibility among future teachers. It also seeks to deepen collaboration among Recollect institutions to advance Catholic education and community development, ensuring that upcoming graduates are competent, compassionate, and deeply inspired by the Augustinian Recollect charism. Witnessing the signing were COED Dean Dr. Ma and Theresa Chavez, SEA-R Principal Ana Liza Montaño, and RHFI Corporate Secretary Nilda Jamili.
