Fr. Don Besana, OAR issued Memo #039 s. A.Y. 2020-2021 regarding the Feast of San Sebastian. With reference to Circular Letter No. 2021-001 issued by the Office of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Bacolod, January 20, 2021 is the Solemnity of St. Sebastian, the Patron Saint of the Diocese of Bacolod. In this regard:
(1) All parishes and chaplaincies throughout the Diocese are enjoined to observe this feast with the theme, “San Sebastian: Ginbugayan sa Paghatag kag Paghalad sang Kabuhi”.
(2) There will be a Solemn Concelebrated Mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral at 10:00 o’clock in the morning.
(3) There will be no religious procession or the Traslacion de San Sebastian; instead, there will be a ‘recorrida’ throughout the major streets of Bacolod City.
(4) The Feast Day is to be observed as a HOLIDAY in all Parochial and Catholic Schools as well as Parishes/Chaplaincies and Diocesan Offices. Hence, January 20 is a NON-WORKING DAY at UNO-R.
Let us join the whole Diocese of Bacolod in seeking intercession from St. Sebastian for our protection in this time of pandemic.
