Marielle Makilan, a Grade 10 student and Editor-in-Chief of Starlight, the official publication of the High School Department, grabbed gold in Science and Technology Writing in English in the Regional Schools Press Conference 2015, Punta Villa, Iloilo City, Nov. 25-27. Makilan finished as champion as well in the Division Schools Press Conference 2015 held in St. Scholastica’s Academy, Sept. 6, for the same category and represented Division of Bacolod City in the regional together with other Starlight writers who were division winners, namely Charles Gabriel Gelotin for Feature Writing in Filipino, Angelica Louise Gomez for Editorial Writing in Filipino, Nathalia Ross Daquiado for Editorial Writing in English, Hazel Lorraine Herida for Science and Technology Writing in Filipino and Joshua John Noble for Feature Writing in English. Makilan will advance to the National Schools Press Conference in Cotabato City in February 2016 to represent Region VI. (Starlight)
