UNO-Recoletos IS Developmental Communication Club holds 2nd WARAGWAG

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Integrated School (IS)-Senior High School Department Developmental Communication (DEVCOMM) holds its 2^nd WARAGWAG Province-wide Interschool TV News Casting and Radio Announcing Competition at the University Little Theater on September 12, 2019. 170 participants from both public and private high schools compete for the Radio Announcing in English and Filipino and TV News casting in English and Filipino categories respectively. Specials Awards are given to the Best Script in Radio (English and Filipino) and Best Script on TV (English and Filipino). Ms. Therese Amor G. Panzo, LPT, adviser of DEVCOM Club, a Mass Communication graduate of UNO-Recoletos claimed that the whole day affair was fruitful and successful. Participants engaged with the local media practitioners for a mini-press conference. They were given a chance to ask questions on the rudiments of writing news reports and the challenges and difficulties of being a news writer. Again, Mass Communication Alumni led the mini-press conference Martian Muyco of ABS-CBN, Ms. Frances Doren Balboa of Bombo Radio John Dale Salazar of Aksyon Radyo and Mr. Erwin Nicavera of SunStar Bacolod. 2^nd WARAGWAG ended with the results on: RADIO ANNOUNCING ENGLISH – First place(013) Melfe Salamania-BCNHS, Second place(021) Easter Joy Patulada-HNHS, Third place (030) Jean Louise Cruz DMLMHS;  RADIO ANNOUNCING FILIPINO – First place (007) Carl Gallano-NOHS, Second place (008)-Mark John Guradamano-NOHS, Third place(015)-Christopher Lloyd Lobaton-HNHS;   TV NEWS CASTING (ENGLISH) – First Place (004) Jirah Mae Cordova KCC, Second place (008) Brylin Dorias- VNHS ,Third place Esperancilla-QGMMNHS; TV NEWSCASTING (FILIPINO) – First place(019) Juliaanah Makilan-Sum-ag NHS, Second place (010) Aya Nicole Manaquit PCA, Third place(012) Junel Arellano- NOHS; BEST SCRIPTS – TV English (008) Brylin Dorias VNHS;  TV Filipino (015) Khea DelaCruz   DVFGMMNHS;  RADIO Announcing (ENGLISH) 015  Jude Angelo Gonzaga NOHS;  RADIO Announcing (Filipino)023  Dexter Japitana DMLMHS.
