The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) training hub facilities for the upgrading of the sugar workers socio-economic condition, Sugar Workers Development Center (SWDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding as Consortium Partners with UNO-R, USLS, NONESCOST and PRRM at the SWDC last 06 December 2012. In the MOU, DOLE shall allow the free use of SWDC as facilities for conducting trainings; provide honoraria to the consortium partners for services rendered; and other privileges to their partners for the use of SWDC facilities. In return the Consortium Partners shall act as Resource persons/trainors for various trainings; shall conduct training needs analysis among the workers; shall assist DOLE in producing training programs and materials needed for the implementation of the program; and shall organize and train workers for possible livelihiood projects and cooperative business intervention in coordination with DOLE. The MOU signing was attended by Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, Jr.
