An encounter with the American Field Service (AFS) scholars in Negros was sponsored by the Office of External Affairs through AFS Coordinator, Mr. Larry Franco. The scholars were at the campus from September 7 – 9, 2016. An exhibit and information on the AFS multicultural programs and Pre-registration for Spanish and French classes were done from September 7 -9 at Room SA103. Volunteer recruitment and interaction were done in the morning of the 8th and an International Food festival was held in the afternoon. Symposium for the administrators and volunteers was held last September 9, 2016. The AFS scholars are Clara Contesti (France); Malin Walter and David Meier (Germany); Nana Tsuchiya and Erica Daimon (Japan); Isak Boyd (USA); Jacopo Baccarina (Italy); Amparo Malerba (Argentina) and Camille Depre(Belgium). Malerba and Depre are having their multicultural exchange program with UNO-R. The program –in-charge at UNO-R is Dr. Nena Samillano.
