The local celebration of the centennial of Padre Mauricio Ferrero, OAR kicked off at UNO-R , June 24, 2016. His icon was unveiled during the celebration of the university’s Mass of the Holy Spirit. Unveiling the icon were Msgr. Louie Galbines; Fr. William Villaflor,OAR; Fr. President and Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR. Padre Ferrero is known as the builder of Bacolod. He laid out the plan of the city. He also built the old Provincial Jail (now 888), and renovated the San Sebastian Cathedral. His centennial will end on his death date, December 8.
