The Regional Advisory Committee for Animal Disease Control and Emergency Negros Island Region (RAC – ADCE NIR) was established last February 11, 2016, Pavillion Hotel, Bacolod City. It stands committed to its mandate as the Regional counterpart of the National Advisory Committee for Animal Disease Control and Emergency and as such shall give advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Department of Agriculture on issues and concerns of the preventions, control, and eradication of economically important animal diseases including those transmissible to humans. Dr. Ma. Corazon G. Acaba has been appointed as chairperson of RAC-ADCE NIR. The newly installed Regional Director of Department of Agriculture Region -18 in the person of Mr. Renato P. Manantan (seated second from left )is the co- chairperson of the said committee. All city veterinarians and provincial veterinarians of both provinces of Negros Island Region are regular members while presidents of different livestock and poultry organizations are appointed as special members.
