The Special Technological and Educational Programs (STEP) Office conducted a closing ceremony to its short- term English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) program last September 2, 2019 at the UNO-R Little Theater. The primary purpose of this program is to allow students to improve their English Language abilities and their understanding of other cultures. The program was opened by Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi Jr. as he shared his gratefulness to the graduating ESL students. The students performed through hosting, song number, poetry interpretation, and live dialogue/ conversation in English. Moreover, Yume Okazaki and Miku Taguchi delivered their message on behalf of the Ibaraki Christian (IC) University students. Moreover, Rev. Fr. Don H. Besana, OAR led the distribution of the certificates of completion to the IC students. Last August 7, 2019, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between UNO-R and IC. The program was closed by Dr. Nena P. Samillano, STEP Director. Among the IC University students are Yuta Fukuda; Daiki Komatsuzaki; Yume Okazaki; Ayaka Sakamoto; and Miku Taguchi.
