Engr. Christopher Taclobos, Dean of the College of Engineering joined the Coca-Cola AGOS (Flow) Hydraulic Ram Pump Project turnover ceremony last April 19, 2016, at Sitio Binalbagan, Brgy. Mausog, and Sitio Kan-urong, Brgy. Puso in La Castellana, Negros Occidental. The project was funded by Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines as part of their Water Stewardship Program, and implemented by the Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation, Inc. (AIDFI), wherein Engr. Taclobos is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. AIDFI is a community-support social enterprise that developed the Hydraulic Ram Pump, a technology that can supply water to upland areas without the use of electricity or fossil fuel. It is a recipient of the Magsaysay Award and Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Triennial Award in 2012 and was recognized as Champion in the BBC World Challenge 2011. Because of these, AIDFI was tasked by Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines to run a program for Ram Pump Systems to 100 poor and upland communities in the Philippines. Together with Engr. Taclobos were Diego Granizo, President and General Manager of Coca-Cola Philippines; Atty. Adel Tamano, Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications; and Juan Lorenzo Tañada, Legal and Corporate Affairs Associate Director during the turnover ceremony. Auke Idzenga, Management Committee Head of AIDFI and the Town Administrator representative Mayor Alberto Nicor of La Castellana were also present during the ceremony. (College of Engineering)
