High school and College students to compete for UNO-R News Casting competition

Thirty-eight college and 35 high school students were finally trimmed down into 15 each to compete for the 3rd ABS-CBN and UNO-R News Casting Competition on September 13, Saturday.

For the College category finalists: Michael Poblacion (TUP-Visayas), Paul Vern Palermo(La Carlota City College), Lemevie Garanzo (UNO-R), Sno-Ann Digon (UNO-R), Leslie Ann Tingson(UNO-R), Efrelyn Entapon( WNU), Kenjie Gayares(TUP-Visayas), Jennifer Velarde(Binalbagan Catholic College), Princess Abada(WNU), Libert Botalon(TUP-Visayas), Rommel Dapasucat(UNO-R), Jannah Lagare(UNO-R), Hannah Dati(LCC-B), Therese Andrade(USLS) and Marianne Ledesma(Riverside Stateside College).

For the High school category, they were: Marc Kevin Jabay ( Kabankalan Catholic College), John Michael Yblas (UNO-R), Geliane Esteron(St. Joseph School-La Salle), Carolyn Kim Canoy(Colegio De Santo Tomas-Recoletos), Angeli Galapon( Sta. Teresita Academy), Lucille Santivañes (WNU-IS), Mekaela Trique( Bacolod Christian Academy), Angeli Kristi Balinas(UNO-R), Aubrey Jones(Bacolod Christian Academy), Nathalie Kho(Taytung), Denise Guatelara(St.Joseph School-La Salle), Jayrene Taburno(Handumanan National High school), Carlo Marpa( Bacolod City National Highschool) and Roan Aledron(WNU-IS).

The judges of the audition were ABS-CBN TV-Patrol Negros reporters, Yasmin Pascual –Dormido, Ragie Mae Taño Arellano, Marty Go and Mitch Lipa.

Sponsoring this academic event are ABS-CBN TV-4 Bacolod and UNO-R Mass communication Department headed by College of Arts and Sciences Dean, Fr. Joel Alve, OAR.
