The program that was hosted by Dr. Ma. Judy Legaspi commenced with an invocation led by Fr. Leo Alaras, OAR, followed by a welcome address from Ms. Cathrina Dumancas. In her remarks, she emphasized that the scholarship is designed to create a โripple effectโ of positivity, challenging the recipients to eventually pay their success forward.
Rev. Fr. Joel A. Alve, OAR expressed the universityโs profound gratitude to the Dumancas family and Homeworld Construction Corp., noting the vital role of private sector support in advancing higher education.
In a moving keynote, Mr. Charles Dumancas redefined the nature of the partnership. He stressed that the initiative is not merely โcharity,โ but an investment in human potential. He reminded the scholars that education is the ultimate tool for uplifting oneโs status in life and urged them to โcontinue the cycle of opportunityโ by helping others in the future.
The event culminated in the official MOA signing. Fr. Alve and Fr. Alaras signed on behalf of UNO-R, while Mr. Charles Dumancas and Ms. Cathrina Dumancas represented Homeworld Construction Corp. Scholars Jay Nathaniel Aguilar and Angel Mae Gangoso delivered heartfelt responses, pledging their commitment to excellence on behalf of the 2026 cohort.
