UNO-R to Share Christmas Joy with Poor

Christmas 2010 means “Diffusing Augustinian Love to Those Who Have Less” for UNO-Recoletos.

The UNO-Rians  will share Christmas goodies with fisher folks, urban poor and relocation settlers, children garbage scavengers, sidewalk and ambulant vendors, prisoners in the jail, individuals with special needs, elderly, sick people, individuals in the janitorial services, security guards, and maintenance and casual workers.

UNO-R holds health-related seminars

The University Of Negros Occidental- Recoletos will hold series of fora on issues on Generic Act, Citizen Act on Drugs Dispersing and a seminar on First aid on rescue breathing and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation tomorrow, September 7, 2010, during the University Week 2010, to highlight the awareness of the students on the different issues.

UNO-R Holds Green Talks

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos is celebrating its 64th University Week from September 6-11, 2010 with the theme “UNO-R: one heart, one family- saving mother earth”.

Environmental Conference at UNO-R

Seven environmentalists will talk about environmental topics on September 7 and 8, 2010 at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos President’s Hall during the Environmental Stewardship Conference.

 

Greenheart Hermitage goes Global

Brother Jaazeal Jakosalem, OAR representing the Greenheart Hermitage of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos, is one of the presenters of the 4th Bay Area Schools Environmental Conference in San Jose, California held at the Dolce Hayes Mansion Hotel last May 1, 2010.

UNO-R Wins Outreach Contest

UNO-R is one of the winners in the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural and Educational Association (NOPPSCEA) Contest on Outreach Project. The outreach project that was submitted by the College of Education earned merits from the NOPSSCEA Outreach Task Force chaired by Dr. Angelina J. Guinanao. The Outreach Coordinator of the College of Education is Mrs. Ma. Elena Y. Doruelo.

RCY to Conduct First Aid Trainings

The Red Cross Youth Organization of the University of the Negros Occidental -Recoletos will be conducting series of Basic First Aid Trainings during the University Week

CCJE Undertakes Community Service

Faculty members of the College of Criminal Justice Education, Miss Jean Benedicto, Mr. Carlito Magbanua, and Mrs. Sally Kalalang and college secretary Ms. Pamela Delgado joined the 98 Police Interns of the college in a coastal clean-up and mangrove tree planting activity at the off-shore area of Punta Taytay, Sum-ag, Bacolod City last on Sunday, July 26.

This activity was held in response to the requirement of the UCDO for all colleges and departments to provide outreach program and service to some communities by focusing on environmental awareness.  The clean-up and tree planting activity was facilitated by the Community Outreach coordinators of the college Miss Caryl Vina Jabasa and Mr. Mario Jocson.  (SSKalalang)
