UNO-R Participates In GSDC 2026, Indonesia; Gears Up For Impact, Sustainability, and Research Dev’t


The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos, Incorporated received an invitation from Times Higher Education to join the annual Global Sustainable Development Congress at Indonesia Convention and Exhibition (ICE), Tangerang, Indonesia, June 22-25, 2026.

Representing the World Ranking Committee Members of the university are; Dr. Melona Q. Guitche, Director of Quality Assurance Office, Dr. Agnes C. Sequiño, Internationalization Director, Dr. Marisa B. Petalla, Research and Development Office Director, and Mr. Kit Martin A. De Paula, Marketing Director.

In pursuit for academic global excellence, the goal of the university’s participation in the GSDC 2026 is not merely for rankings, but to elevate the university’s reputation as a global institution committed to a mission of service to the communities. For Ines Gonzales – Sanchez, Regional Manager of Times Higher Education for Asia and Australia, she extended her joy in UNO-R’s interest to be part of more than 1,600 universities around the world rippling global change.

Building connections with other higher education institutions, meeting global partners, and taking note of the key and best practices of top universities were among the highlights of UNO-R’s participation.

The GSDC’s mission is to answer the call of the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, providing solutions globally through universities in partnership with economic drivers, industries and the government. As 2030 approaches, the challenge still exists and require more hands to work. With UNO-R’s yes to sustainability reaches bigger responsibility as a university. It accepted that quality education is not merely teaching students to learn, but mobilizing effort and communities to become global changemakers leaving a legacy for the future generations.

SW Program Inks MOA with DSWD-NIR

The UNO-R Social Work Program formally inked and strengthened its partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Negros Island Region (NIR) through
