UNO-R EXECS ATTEND ISO TRAINING

The administrators of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos attended an ISO training given by Mr. Jerald Herrera de la Rosa, 29 February 2016 at the UNO-R President’s Hall.  The speaker is a holder of BS Computer Engineering, Master in Information Management; Master of Arts with Extension Administration; and MBM with Organizational Development.  He is a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001; ISO 90003; ISO 27001, ISO 20000-1, and ISO 25999; European Excellence Award Assessor (EFQM); ISO Tutor, ISO Auditor Reviewer, and Certificate Decision Maker.  The objectives of the training were to facilitate understanding on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 standard; to enable UNO-R system to compare with the requirements of ISO 9001; and To gain appreciation on how to apply the requirements of the standard into UNO-R system.             The whole –day training included topics on:  Fundamental concepts of ISO 9001; Reason for Change; Concepts of Risk-based Thinking; benefits of implementing Quality Management Standards (QMS); structure of ISO 9001:2015 Standard; Requirements of ISO 9001:2015 International Standard; Preparing for ISO 9001:2015 Implementation and ISO 9001:2015 Certification.  After the training, the speaker challenged the administration of the university to go for ISO certification.  The activity was spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Academics and Quality Assurance.
